What did you guys think of this week’s show? I feel like I’m waiting for something explosive to happen, but then nothing exciting every comes through. This season is definitely more tame than the last ones. I’m thinking they need to either shake up the cast or retire this series entirely. What do you think?
Anyway, let’s get to the recap…
Phaedra Parks meets up with Porsha Stewart for lunch. Phaedra tells Porsha that her relationship with Kandi Burruss has changed and she doesn’t know why. She also thought it was odd that Kandi didn’t chase after her after Kenya spilled the Mr. Chocolate tea. I think Kandi is being selfish. Porsha has been there for her after all the men that dogged her out and after Mama Joyce continuously wrecked havoc on her life. Porsha goes through one little crisis and immediately Kandi backs away. Smh.
Speaking of Kandi, this doodoo bird is going to counseling after six months of marriage. Yup, SIX months. It’s funny how she can’t see the signs that Todd is clearly uninterested in her, but she’s gonna hold on for dear life just so Mama Joyce can’t say, “I told ya so”.
Peter Thomas is putting on an awards show. For what? I have no idea. You know this man always has his hands in something. Cynthia Bailey invites Kenya, Demetria, Claudia Jordan and Kandi to the event. They start talking about the Mr. Chocolate fiasco and Kenya asks Kandi if she was aware of Porsha’s affair. Kandi starts twerking her big ol’ mouth and scrunching up her face and says “NO”, then the scene cuts to Todd Tucker chatting with Peter. Todd tells Peter that Apollo came by their house with the screenshots of the text messages and Kandi knew about the affair.
I get that Kandi is trying to protect whatever friendship she has left with Phaedra, but maybe next time she needs to make sure that her husband is on board with her lies.
Kandi has no idea she was getting honored with an award. Again, I have no idea what this ceremony was about or the significance of it. It just seems like another way for Peter to blow through Cynthia’s money.
Nene Leakes meets up with Dr. Jeffries to talk about having a group counseling session with all the ladies. Umm…since when does Nene care about keeping the peace? This sounds like a setup.
And the most awkward scene of the night goes to Cynthia and Phaedra. Cynthia invites Phaedra to a restaurant to talk and when she gets there, Cynthia’s like, “So I want to make sure you want to talk” and Phaedra is looking at her crazy like “You invited me here to talk, so what do you want to talk about?” Then they start talking about double standards and fact-checking. Phaedra thinks it was irresponsible for Cynthia to bring up the Mr. Chocolate texts without fact-checking the situation. Cynthia then flips the script and tells Phaedra that she shouldn’t have accused Kenya of offering to slob on Apollo’s knob without fact-checking to make sure the event actually took place.
And at that point, Phaedra gets her big donkey booty up and leaves. Seriously, it was the shortest scene ever and a waste of film.
Can we talk about this for a moment? Who told Kandi to wear those pants? Does she think that dressing with her fat-injected butt out will make her husband finally want to smash? Keep trying, Kandi.
Look what the cat dragged in. I haven’t seen Mama Joyce in about six episodes. She finally shows up to Kandi’s boutique and tries to guilt-trip her about not spending time with their family anymore.
Of course Kandi immediately starts to crying and doesn’t know why her mom blames her for everything. Hmmm, maybe because your mama’s a manipulator?
In the end, Mama Joyce finally gives Kandi a key and garage remote for the new house, but she says Todd won’t be getting a key of his own lol.
Nene invites the ladies to lunch at a Mexican restaurant and Porsha insists on walking in looking a thot-tastical mess. Why does she insist on dressing like a Magic City stripper?
Even though Nene didn’t invite Kenya and Phaedra to the lunch, she wanted to tell the other ladies about her idea of going to counseling to mend their relationships. Everyone agrees except for Kandi.
See, there she goes again with that twerking mouth and hideous face.
Kandi thought that by playing the middle and stirring the pot between both sides it would make her exempt from counseling, but Porsha and Nene had to tell her about herself real quick. They let her know that they could feel the tension between her and Phaedra and they need to resolve their issues a.s.a.p. Kandi says she doesn’t have a problem with Phaedra, but she finally agrees to go to the counseling session.
This is seriously the best Claudia has ever looked. She needs to stick to the black hair.
Meanwhile, Nene had the nerve to look like THAT on next week’s episode. It’s most likely a wig for her oh so important Broadway play but I wouldn’t be surprised if she rocked that dry tumbleweave out in public.
What did you think of this week’s Real Housewives of Atlanta? Do you think that Kandi has been a good friend to Phaedra ever since the whole Apollo incident went down?
