Episode 6 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta was called “Make-Ups and Breakdowns”. I would have scratched the word “make-ups” because nothing was resolved in this episode!
The episode picks up with the cast resuming their kumbaya session. Nene Leakes brings on the crocodile tears and Phaedra Parks thinks it’s a good idea if she, Porsha Stewart, Kenya Moore and Kandi Burruss excuse themselves from the table.
Nene and Cynthia Bailey both start crying as they attempt to figure out where their relationship went wrong. In the end, they hug it out and decide to leave the past in the past and move forward with their friendship.
Oh, but wait. Helmet head can’t really find it in her heart to forgive and forget. She has no issues with being cordial with Cynthia, but she doesn’t think she can ever trust her again. Umm…can someone remind me how Cynthia allegedly betrayed Nene’s trust? Nene is so delusional. Instead of taking responsibility for her actions, she managed to switch the whole situation around to make Cynthia look like the bad person.
Fake tears for a fake person!
She gave Cynthia a pity hug and then they walked out the restaurant arm in arm. What’a sad is that Cynthia really thought that they were cool after this scene. Smh. She needs to just let this friendship go!
Can we discuss Kandi’s Christmas hams for a minute? Rumor has it that she got a fat transfer to achieve the look of a book shelf sitting on her back. What do you think? Yay or nay?
Anyway, Kandi gets on Facetime with her husband Todd Tucker who’s in New York on “business”. He invites her out to New York so they could spend time with his mother Mrs. Sharon. Kandi is reluctant but agrees to fly out to the city to meet with her husband and mother-in-law.
I like how Kandi was acting like she had never been to New York before. She put on this act like she was disgusted by everything. A little bit of pee on the ground never hurt nobody. Chill out, Kandi
Todd shows Kandi around his old neighborhood (you mean to tell me they’ve been together for two years and she’s never been to his hometown?). To turn Kandi into a true New Yorker, he dresses her up like a member of the Wu-Tang Clan with some Timberlands and a fitted cap.
Looking a hot azz “country girl in the city” mess.
Cynthia is also in New York because she’s walking in her friend Kithe’s fashion show. Can someone explain to me what’s going on in the picture above? Why is this oversized man dressed like an S&M experience gone wrong?
The newlyweds meet up with Peter Thomas and Cynthia for dinner. They discuss the whole Mama Joyce and Miss Sharon fiasco and lookie here…
*Gasp* Todd forgot his ring! Shocker!
Kandi is getting played! This man don’t love her! They were newlyweds at the time of this taping and he’s already flossing around in his hometown without his wedding ring? Play on, playa!
Peter, Cynthia and Kandi look absolutely bored with the conversation.
It’s time for the fashion show! Cynthia prays to the sashay gawds for a good show.
Cynthia really thought she killed it but to me, she looked so stiff and robotic. She was giving me zombie drugged-out realness. Her runway days are over…unless her bff Kithe begs her to be in another one of his low-budget fashion shows of course.
What did y’all think about the scene where Kandi and Todd met up with Miss Sharon? I know that this was their reality and it is an accurate depiction of what went down at that time in their lives, but I felt that it put Miss Sharon in a bad light following her death. She was hootin’ and hollerin’ and threatening to bust Mama Joyce straight in her filthy little mouth.
Kandi was so peeved and uncomfortable during the entire meal. You know she wanted to go off on Miss Sharon for talking about her mother but 1) she respects her elders and 2) it’s her mother-in-law so what is she really supposed to do about the situation? It’s not like she can sit there and cuss her out.
Miss Sharon is demanding an apology from Mama Joyce. She said she’s a lot of things but one thing she ain’t is somebody’s heaux! Mama Joyce was wrong for that comment, don’t you think?
This was Kandi’s face the entire time as she listened to Miss Sharon call Mama Joyce a biatch. Kandi kept saying that no matter what her mom says and does, she’s still her mama. Well, no shyt Kandi! That’s not the point! Like Todd said during the last episode, Kandi continuously rewards her mother even though she has caused so much trouble in her life. Where the hayle is Kandi’s backbone? It’s time for her to latch off the boob and stand up to her trifilin’ mother.
This awkward moment between two strangers will happen on next week’s episode. Are you ready?
