Wendy Williams’ rumored new boyfriend has made his grand debut on her Instagram page. Of course, everyone is scrambling to find out more information about the man who reportedly has the talk show host smiling from ear to ear.
We were able to find some surprising facts about her new beau…who isn’t so new after all. In fact, they were acquainted professionally before they decided to take things to the next level.
Here’s what we know about Wendy Williams’ new boyfriend.
Who is William Selby?
Wendy Williams’ new boyfriend is a New York City jeweler named William Selby, a.k.a. Big Will.
According to his Instagram account, he has provided icy and blinged-out pieces to a bunch of celebrities, including A$AP Ferg, Fabolous, and — you guessed it — Wendy Williams.
Wendy Williams’ new boyfriend was her business associate
Wendy has spoken about William on her talk show before, including back in Oct. 2019 when she rocked a 2677 necklace he made. At the time, Wendy referred to William as her “jeweler.”
The talk show maven referenced William again in 2020. This time, she posted a photo of the two of them chilling at her house. The studio audience oohed and ahhed, but Wendy called William a “friend” and her “jeweler.”
William shared the clip to his Instagram account on Feb. 1, 2020, and gave some more insight into their “friendship.” In his caption, he wrote: “@wendyshow and myself conducting our annual Super Bowl Pre-Game food challenge with all new pickle flavored @pringles Live on Hot Topics.”
Yes, he said annual food challenge. So it seems like William has been around for a while and was most likely a friend and associate of Wendy and her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter. Hmm…
He spoiled her on Valentine’s Day
Wendy Williams’ new boyfriend pulled out all the stops for their first Valentine’s Day. During an episode of her talk show, Wendy — although she didn’t mention William by name — said someone had stopped by her office before she began filming. The man had two pieces of jewelry in his hands and asked her to pick one. Wendy went with a beautiful diamond-encrusted heart necklace, which she also wore on-air.
She announced to her studio audience her mystery man would be stopping by later that night, as well. When William reposted the video clip to his Instagram account with the caption: “V-Day special for the incomparable @wendywilliams” we assumed he was the mystery man in question!
They’ve been spending a lot of time together
Wendy Williams’ new boyfriend continues to spoil her with beautiful pieces, including the above Cancer zodiac necklace. And now that the talk show maven is officially single, it looks like she’s getting more comfortable with going public with their romance.
She and William recently attended the Spotify x Cash Money premiere of the documentary New Cash Order together. And on Feb. 21, 2020, Wendy posted a photo of herself in the backseat of a car. The caption reads: “He sent his car for me..dinner in pursuit. Happy Friday!”
Did she deny dating William Selby?
We’re happy she’s finally being treated the way she deserves but is it all a stunt? After all the hoopla regarding her and William hit the net, she addressed the dating rumors on the Feb. 24 episode of her daytime talk show.
“I had an interesting weekend. It was all innocent to me but apparently it caused waves everywhere else. All I’m doing is being Wendy,” she said.
So here’s what Wendy says: She met a 27-year-old rapper named Black Papi. She went to his studio session on Friday and “her friend” Will joined her.
She said Will “fixes stuff, shines stuff, he’s made a couple of pieces [of jewelry] for me.” But she denied dating him because Will is apparently “involved with his family, he’s got a whole ‘nother life.”
Sounds like Wendy’s type. JK.
Is Wendy playing games just to make someone jealous? Hmm…
In case you forgot, Wendy and her ex-husband Kevin Hunter’s divorce was finalized in Jan. 2020, according to Page Six. They each agreed to forego alimony. However, Wendy did agree to keep a $1 million life insurance policy on herself that will go to Kevin should she pass away. Page Six reports she has the right to reduce the amount on a yearly (thank goodness).
What do you think about this Wendy and William situation? Is it a whole bunch of nothing?
